6 yearsI got a call from a recorded message claiming to be from BT saying my internet and phone line would be cut off because of some suspicious activity. They told me to press 1 to talk to an agent, so I did. Then I ended up speaking to a woman with a thick accent who was really hard to understand. She said someone in California was using my email. When I questioned her about not sounding like BT, she just hung up on me. I got a very similar call just the day before, but from a different landline number. The weird thing is, I’m not even with BT, and I don’t see how they’d know my mobile number since it's not connected to my phone line and I don’t keep emails on my phone.
