I had a rather peculiar call from the number 01971222320. The woman on the other end claimed to be from O2, touting some kind of discount on my mobile plan. The funny thing is, I don’t even have an O2 account! It struck me as rather fishy - definitely feels like an attempt at scamming!

Someone rang me from a number very similar to this one, 01971-222326, saying they were from O2 and trying to offer me a 40% cut on my bill. The person said they’d send a code to my phone that I’d need to read back to them. I got suspicious straight away, thinking it was a dodgy scam, so I ended the call and blocked the number. If this really is O2, they seriously need to rethink how they do their marketing.
