I picked up the phone, and there was nothing but dead air for nearly half a minute. Then, out of the blue, an automated voice chimed in with a swift ‘Goodbye.’ This marks the second time in just two days that this has happened!

I just received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming to be Chris from 118, who said they wanted to verify some business information. However, he wouldn’t stop probing about my financial authority, which raised all my alarms. I ended the call immediately! It's clear this was another scam attempt.

I received a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent. She didn't disclose her location and wanted to speak to the owner of the business. I informed her that the owner wasn't available. Then she inquired whether I had the authority to make any financial decisions for the company. When I replied that I didn't, she abruptly ended the call. Quite peculiar, really!

I received a call from a lady with a pronounced Indian accent who was inquiring about my business details. When she mentioned something about '118', I knew immediately where this was heading. I informed her that she was dialling a private number and promptly ended the conversation. It’s baffling how they get hold of personal numbers when their real intention seems to be targeting businesses!

Sounds like it was probably an automated call. I picked up, and all I heard was a robotic voice say "Goodbye" before the call abruptly cut off. Quite strange, really!

I received nothing but silence, followed by a robotic response saying, "Farewell."

I answered, but it was just silence on the line, then a sudden, ear-piercing beep before an electronically generated farewell came through.
