Someone rang me saying they were from Amazon, but I wasn’t expecting any parcels, so I guessed it was a scam. The connection was really bad, so I just ended the call.

They claimed to be from Amazon, telling me to look at my emails right away. I asked what for, and they said there’d been a £750 charge on my account that I had to cancel. I chuckled and said it was a joke, that I’d just been watching this show Scam Interceptors on the BBC, which was about exactly this kind of scam. They hung up straight away… The strange bit is, I’ve never even made an Amazon account! I don’t understand why these scammers can’t just get a real job.

Yet again some dodgy caller attempting to squeeze £600 out of me. It's beyond me why telecom firms don’t put a stop to this sort of dodgy activity. They keep using prank code numbers to pull these stunts. It’s been happening forever! Loads of vulnerable folks get caught up in these scams all the time. Everything seems to push us online nowadays, but maybe it’s time to go back to buying from local shops and have banks right in our neighbourhoods again. Yep, I’m seriously pissed off as a phone user, having to fork out while getting targeted by scammers!!!!!!

On 16th April around 3:45pm, I got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent. He wanted to know if I had a laptop or computer and asked me to turn it on. I asked him what it was about and told him straight away he was trying to scam me. He hung up after that.

Got a call around half past twelve, and after a brief silence, the person claimed to be from Amazon security, saying there was an unusual transaction on my account from the night before. They mentioned they'd already emailed me about it and wanted me to verify it right away. I told them I'd just call Amazon myself if that was true, but they insisted I couldn’t do that. Obviously contacting Amazon was possible, so I ended the call and blocked the number straight away. Pretty clear scam if you ask me.

This number 01969622713 has called me about 7 times now. Every time they ring, the first question is always if I’ve checked my emails today. When I tell them no, they just end the call straight away. Also, I’ve realised it’s the same voice every time, and it sounds like the caller might be African or somewhere around there.

Got a call around 3pm from someone with a West African accent who said they were from Amazon Security. They told me there was a new account made with my name the night before. I didn’t say my name or anything, just told them I don’t deal with cold calls and hung up straight away.

Got a call one afternoon during the week. The guy on the line had a strong Far East accent and said his name was Mark - which is funny because that’s my name too. He claimed to be with Amazon security. Total scam, though, cos no way would Amazon contact you like that over the phone.
