This man told me he was calling because there had been a claim made against me about a small car crash. But I haven’t been involved in any accident at all.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Nationwide Building Society wanting to discuss my account. Banks never call me out of the blue like that, so I told the caller straight up that it was a scam and to get lost. I then blocked the number so they wouldn't bother me again. Just a heads up to everyone, watch out for these sorts of calls!

Got a call from a local number, asked straight up for me by name like it was a personal ring. Turns out they were pushing home improvement deals. When I rang the number back, a marketing firm picked up, so looks like they’re now using local numbers to trick folks into picking up. Before, it was usually a private or no number at all, which most people just ignore now assuming it’s a sales pitch.
