Got a recorded message from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying there’s been some tax fraud linked to me. It told me to press 1 if I wanted to speak to the correct team. Definitely sounded dodgy to me!

Got a robo call supposedly from HMRC claiming I owed over £11,000 in taxes and that if I didn’t talk to an officer, I’d be arrested. Then some bloke with an Indian accent said police would be at my door in an hour if I didn’t pay up right away over the phone. Total scam! Make sure you report these calls so others don’t fall for it!

Just a heads up, HMRC will never reach out to you through WhatsApp or any other messaging app about tax refunds. If you get a message on WhatsApp claiming to be from HMRC, it’s definitely a scam. Keep an eye out and don’t fall for it!

Got a call from a lady who had a japanese accent, she said it was bt but something to do with my router, then just ended the call. I blocked the number straight away.
