They keep ringing me up, asking if they can get into my computer.

Everytime they call, it’s with a new phone number. They’ll say there’s a problem with your internet or your router from your provider. Then they tell you to download some app which supposedly scans for viruses using info from sites you’ve visited. After that, they try to trick you into logging into your online banking to grab big loans without your permission. Seriously, don’t ever let anyone get control of your PC - just end the call straight away!

I keep receiving calls where the caller is specifically requesting my husband by name. Whenever I ask who’s calling, they just hang up without saying a word. Honestly, can you believe this government’s complete inaction? My parents are well into their seventies and eighties, and they’re absolutely inundated with these nuisance calls. They’re not tech-savvy at all, but thankfully, there’s a computer at home that my sister and I use. We’ve advised them to kindly decline any offers from these callers, but it’s exhausting for us as these fraudsters become increasingly clever. It’s downright disgraceful to think of our elderly being subjected to such harassment. With all the technological advancements we boast about - like sending rovers to Mars - surely there must be a way to tackle this issue right at the source? Why on earth can't telephone providers just block these calls? It seems to me that it all boils down to the profits they’re raking in from these criminals using their lines. It’s beyond frustrating!

I find TPS to be utterly pointless. The governmental initiative seems like a complete drain on resources too, offering little to no results. It’s high time these callers faced hefty penalties for each unsolicited ring they make. And for goodness’ sake, don’t let these rogues access your computer! I got a call from this number claiming to be regarding my computer. I told the chap to take a hike, as I don’t own a computer! He had an Indian accent, as others have noted, and I'm fairly certain this isn’t the first time he’s tried to reach me. Is there a place where we can lodge a complaint about these nuisance calls?

I got a call from someone saying there was an issue with my computer, and it freaked me out that they actually knew my name and where I live. I didn’t share any details and just hung up straight away.

For the last four days, I've been receiving calls from this number around half eight to nine in the morning. Each time I pick up, there’s nothing but silence on the other end, which is typical of these annoying calls. I just end up disconnecting. I've recently been in touch with a firm named Easy Techy, hoping to resolve an issue on my PC (account number 0082453, phone number 08000163909). To my surprise, this morning I received a call from someone with an Indian accent, urging me to hop on my computer. Naturally, I chose not to comply. Is this a potential scam attempting to deceive me? And how on earth did he know there was a malfunction with my machine? I would greatly appreciate it if someone could investigate this company for me. - caller: regrettably, I missed his name.

Got a call from some woman claiming to be from ‘IT support’. She told me my computer was working really slow and asked if I was using it right then. I just ended the call straight away.

I've had a few run-ins with these callers before. Given that I have several computers at home, when I pressed them to clarify which one they were referring to, they simply kept insisting on 'the Windows computer!' In the end, I decided to hang up. The chap on the other end had a rather serious tone, claiming to be from “Windows” and desperately informing me that my system had a virus due to an alarming number of error messages popping up. Thankfully, I wasn’t taken in, but it makes me think that someone a bit older, who isn’t as savvy with technology, might easily fall for this nonsense. Just had another call from them, and this time all I got was dead air. When I attempted to return the call, it was one of those annoying unobtainable signals. It’s high time someone put a stop to these sneaky tactics. Can't the holders of our telephone lines do something to thwart these chancers?

I recently received a call from this number, and when I picked up, a chap with an Indian accent informed me that my computer had a virus and he was there to assist. He asked me to press a specific button, and when I requested him to repeat himself as I hadn’t quite grasped it the first time, he impatiently repeated, “Press the blah blah button.” I replied, “I’m terribly sorry, but I can’t seem to find that button.” He then rudely retorted, “Are you blind?” to which I responded, “No, I’m not blind, just my vision isn’t the best.” His reply was rather dismissive, “Oh, well it doesn’t matter then,” before he abruptly terminated the call. Clearly, this was nothing more than a scam attempt fishing for my personal details.

I’m finding it quite frustrating that this company continues to ring me despite my repeated pleas for them to cease. Just today, I answered yet another call and explicitly asked to be removed from their list, but the representative informed me that it was utterly out of the question. Their persistence feels quite invasive, and I truly wish they would find it in themselves to halt these annoying calls once and for all.
