Just got a really suspicious automated call from a bloke sounding like a BBC newsreader saying something like: "British Telecom here - your internet router might have been compromised by hackers from Nigeria. Avoid doing any banking online until you sort this out - press 9 to speak to our tech team." I rang up my provider, EE, who told me straight away it’s a scam and that you should never ring back. I also checked the number by dialling 1471, and it came up as 01963 231 643457. Total con, don’t fall for it!

Got a call on the 13th of June but they didn’t leave any message.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Microsoft’s “tech team.” It was a woman who spoke English quite poorly. I told her I was registered with the TPS and that I'd be reporting her. She just hung up straight away. This was the second time they tried in two days. I suppose some folks might fall for this scam if they weren’t careful.

I told him I wasn’t using that old computer anymore when he called about it, said it sounded like a scam and just ended the call straightaway.

Got a random call at 1:57pm today, but nobody said a word on the other end - felt like talking to a complete muppet.

Some bloke claimed he was calling from Microsoft. I played along and cheekily gave him my credit card info. Let’s just say he didn’t find it funny at all, haha!

Got a call today from a guy named John, sounded Asian, said he was from Microsoft. He was telling me we had loads of error messages popping up on my computer. Asked me to describe what was on my screen, but when I refused, he got really annoyed and started threatening to report me or something. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from an Asian lady earlier. When I said my number was private and that she wasn’t allowed to have it, she got quite irate and raised her voice. I mentioned I’d be reporting her to Action Fraud, and then she started yelling about the CID or something. Really odd and annoying!

Got a call this morning around 10, some bloke claiming he was a manager from Microsoft. Said he’d sue me if I didn’t hand over my details. Had to tell him off and hang up after he rang me like 4 times. Total scam, no doubt about it!

Got a call from someone named Brian claiming to be from Microsoft about an issue with our computer. Thing is, we use Apple Macs and don’t even have Windows on any of them, so it’s clearly a scam. He couldn’t even say which device supposedly had the problem. Why hasn’t TPS banned this number yet?

Had a call at about 10 this morning from someone saying he was John, working for Microsoft. As soon as I mentioned I was 70 and not really into anything tech-related, he just ended the call. Pretty clear it was a scam.

They claimed to be calling from Microsoft about an issue with my PC. I told them flat out it sounded like a scam, which they denied at first. Then, when I mentioned I actually use an Apple machine, they just ended the call. Pretty obvious they were trying to trick me.

Got a call from a bloke named Daniel claiming to be from Microsoft, talking about my computer. He was pretty rude and kept yelling. When I brought up the legal stuff with TSP, he sounded annoyed. Apparently, my computer got blocked or something? Not exactly the best way to spend my day off, but hey, I guess I’m in for a bit of a challenge!

He never really said his name, but he started telling me there was something wrong with my Microsoft PC. Asked me to stay by the computer while he guided me through some stuff. Felt really dodgy, like a scam or something.

My missus got a call again today, the second one in just two days, from some rude bloke with an accent (not trying to be racist, just saying). This time he actually threatened her, said stuff like he'd "###" her if she didn’t turn on her computer! Proper disgraceful. Unfortunately, I was stuck at work then, but I really hope he rings back when I’m in.

this bloke said he worked for microsoft and that there were issues with my computer. I told him I didn’t own a PC, but he kept saying I had a laptop instead. I said no, even tho I actually do own both. He kept saying I was in his system. When I asked who he really was, he just ended the call.

Some bloke called sayin he worked for Microsoft claiming my computer was hacked and I needed to switch it on. I told him I was heading to the library to use a computer, but he just kept pushing me to get on mine. Didn’t say the library's right in town centre though.

I answered the call but said nothing, and they just ended it right away. I have no one in Wincanton, so I guess it was a wrong number. Honestly, I find it kinda funny annoying them like that.

Lately, I've been getting a lot of silent calls. I reckon it's because I've been blocking numbers more often, and now these silent calls are happening way more than before, maybe as some sort of payback.

Had a couple of calls from this number while I was out, all within about 15 minutes. After checking the site, I thought I’d give the number a ring myself to see if it was a PPI or maybe some non-fault accident claim, just to add something useful here. But when I tried calling back, it told me the number doesn’t exist - and I didn’t even type it in myself, just hit callback on my phone. Honestly, they really need to make it illegal for companies to call from numbers that then look like something different. It’s a mess and it’s about time some proper rules came in.
