Got a missed call from a number I don’t recognise, and there was no voicemail or anything. I use BT Guardian, and after checking out the reviews on the number, I decided to block it straight away.

So this guy with a strange accent rang me up out of the blue. I didn't wanna chat, just told him to remove my number from his list. Then, surprise surprise, he called me again a few days later. When I told him we’d already spoken, he went off, yelling "Back off, b##ch!" Proper cheeky if you ask me.

This guy, who sounded Indian, claimed he was with Microsoft and wanted to talk about my computer. I told him I didn't own a computer at all. Then he switched gears and asked if I had a TV, which I said no to, followed by a question about a radio - again, no. Finally, he asked if I had a mobile phone, to which I said yes but mentioned I barely use it. He said he wanted to buy my phone! That was enough for me, so I just ended the call and blocked the number through BT.

Got a call this morning at around 10:02 from a lady with an Asian accent claiming she was from Microsoft, saying my computer was showing error alerts. Definitely a scam. I told her I don’t even own a computer and then hung up straight away.

Had a call from someone claiming to be Rosina at Microsoft. She wanted to know if I was the primary user of my PC. I almost played along but thought better of it. Totally a scam. If you get this, make sure to report it here: https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ - that’s the UK’s official place to report fraud and cyber crimes.

Just like a few others, some guy with an Indian accent claimed he was from Microsoft. I told him Microsoft never makes calls like that, and he called me a liar, asking who told me that. I just told him to stop wasting my time and hung up - hope he never calls back.

Got a call on my home phone from a guy with an Asian accent claiming he was from Microsoft, asking for me. My wife told him to just leave a message, but he quickly tried to trick her into going online and typing in some code he was telling her to enter. When I walked in, she passed me the phone and the bloke then refused to talk to me, saying he was about to give a code to her. I asked him to prove who he was, and he just insulted me, calling me ancient and then hung up. Proper dodgy stuff!

I've had a woman from Asia ring me a couple of times this week. The first call, I just ignored it. But today, about half an hour ago, I actually listened to what she was saying. She claimed Microsoft had found a virus on my computer and wanted to fix it remotely. When I mentioned all our devices are Chromebooks, she seemed a bit lost and insisted she still needed access. Eventually, she just gave up and hung up on me.

Got a call from a guy speaking with an Indian accent, claiming there was an issue with my Windows computer - which I don’t even have. I told him he was wasting my time and hung up. Then he called again and began shouting abuse at my wife. Absolutely shocking behaviour, should definitely be reported.

i got a call from someone called chris claiming to be from BT, saying my internet had been hacked and used for several weeks. his accent was thick and when i told him that there’s no broadband connected to the phone number he called me on, he just ended the call straight away. definitely felt like a scam.

Some bloke with an Indian accent, but spoke really clear English, called claiming to be from Microsoft. He said he could give me a secret Microsoft number and show me where to find it on my computer, saying only me and Microsoft would be able to see it. I told him, if my PC was hacked like he said, then obviously any hacker could access everything on there anyway, so I wasn’t about to share any info with him. After that, I just ended the call.

Somebody called saying they were from Microsoft and told me my computer was infected with a virus. I went ahead and blocked the number through my call blocker, but honestly, it probably won’t do much since they most likely use fake numbers every time they ring.

Had a bloke on the phone the other day, claiming he was from Microsoft or summat. When I told him I didn’t use any Microsoft computer (I’m on a Chromebook), he started banging on about me being dishonest. I told him straight up I was onto his scam, and that I’m pretty clued up with tech stuff. But nah, he kept going, saying I was the muppet trying to pull a fast one by “lying” about my set-up. Proper daft!

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming he was from Microsoft, saying there was a problem with my computer. I called it out as a scam straight away and hung up. It's baffling that BT sells large chunks of numbers all from the same area code to these companies. Like, 01955 is apparently part of a massive batch of 10,000 numbers sold to one company that apparently snapped up over a million in total! It’s obvious these aren’t legit calls, you'd think they’d stop it by now.

Never heard of the Wick area code before! The voice didn’t seem very Scottish, more like a bit of an Asian accent. Of course, it was one of those classic Microsoft scam calls. Told them my computer was fine and told them to get lost. I wasn’t even annoyed enough to shout at them.

This bloke rang up sayin he was from Microsoft, but I immediately told him he was just faking it. He got really annoyed when I mentioned my husband would ring him back (we’d been having some trouble with our PC lately, so I wasn’t sure if it was legit). Then he threatened to block our computer or something daft like that.
