I've found that engaging with those computer scammers can be quite amusing. I make it a point to keep them occupied without revealing any personal details. It’s a bit like leading them on a merry dance—plenty of giggles to be had while they try to get you to spill the beans!

I received a rather persistent call from an Asian woman claiming there was an issue with my computer. At that moment, I was already using it and everything seemed perfectly fine. When I politely declined her assistance, she insisted, "I'm not trying to sell you anything." I responded, "That's true, but I'm not interested, so goodbye."

I received a rather alarming phone call from a woman with a foreign accent who claimed that my computer has some sort of internal issue that only her team could fix. She insisted that I should turn on my laptop, which I currently had in the care of a local technician. When I mentioned this, she promptly asserted that only Microsoft—of which she claimed to be a representative—could handle the situation, dismissing my technician as incapable. Thank goodness I had the presence of mind to suspect this was a scam and ended the call right away. I’m grateful I have an iPhone; I was able to look up the number she called from and stumbled upon your site. Thank you ever so much! This is precisely why I felt compelled to report this incident.

Just after five o'clock, I received a call from a gentleman of Asian descent, who insisted my computer was sending out error alerts. Really, it's the same old story we've all heard before! I informed him I was aware it was nothing but a scam and promptly hung up.

Beware of a fraudulent caller claiming to be from "Windows." They will try to persuade you into downloading malware. It's best to steer clear of them!

I’ve just experienced the same thing! A woman called, purporting to be from Windows, and then she abruptly disconnected the call!

So, there's this chap Mike claiming to be from Windows. I wonder what their angle is? What's in it for them, really?

I've received multiple calls from this number. If there were any issues with my computer, I'd be aware of it, and they'd reach out through online means too. Just a heads up—it's a con aimed at gaining access to your machine, all so they can subsequently hit you with a hefty bill for supposedly eradicating a virus that they'll plant on your device in the first place. Stay vigilant!

They're nothing but a pack of clueless plonkers, plain and simple.

I've received multiple calls from this number, and it's clearly a dodgy operation. I simply inform them that their number is flagged as a 'scammer's number' and that I won't be engaging with them any further.

I received a call from a firm insisting that my computer was plagued with major issues, urging me to grant them remote access straight away. It was evidently an Indian call centre, and the quality of their English left much to be desired.

The call got disconnected while I was screening it with my blocker. Honestly, if anyone is making unsolicited calls to numbers on the Telephone Preference Service list, they’re breaking the law, no two ways about it.

I received a call from this number, and they were attempting to gain access to my computer. I ended the call the first time, but they called back, and I decided to ignore it. When I looked up the number later, I found some concerning information. An Asian woman claiming to be from "tech support" wanted me to turn on my computer, but it was already running, and I had been busy using it all afternoon without any issues. Just a heads up to everyone – stay vigilant!

I’m absolutely fed up with these incessant phone calls; they’re such a drain on my time. It’s high time someone put a stop to all these scamming attempts! I’m quite curious to know how they even obtained my number, especially since I’ve registered to avoid these nuisance calls.

I answered a call only to discover it was a different line altogether. The person on the other end was rambling about how they didn’t own a computer, so how could they possibly have a virus? It was all a bit surreal, honestly. I decided to hang up.

I've been receiving calls from this number multiple times each day, and I’ve repeatedly asked them to cease the calls. The irony is, I don’t even own a computer! Despite my pleas, they persist with their calls, yet whenever my husband picks up, there’s never anyone on the line. It's incredibly frustrating!

I chose not to pick up when that number flashed on my screen. It was odd—the code was short, only five digits instead of the usual six. Very suspicious, isn’t it? Having read through some of the feedback, I’m quite pleased I let it go to voicemail!

The number 01954 78845 called me today at 5:12 PM. My wife picked up the phone, and a man's voice came through saying, "Hi there, I know you, and I fancy you." When my wife stayed quiet, he continued with, "Why aren't you chatting with me?" After a bit of awkward silence, he simply hung up. Quite bizarre, really!

Bell rings. "I'm inquiring about your computer." That’s as much as I could tolerate before I exploded with expletives and thought of many dreadful things for the person on the other end. There's no way they obtained my number from any database, seeing as I only share this line with one other individual!

Like many before it, this one’s definitely a scam. I somehow managed to keep them chatting for a whopping 21 minutes—a personal best! Eventually, the manager hopped on the line and was absolutely dreadful, tossing around some truly foul language. Who knew the callers from India could speak such atrocious terms? But ah well, at least I set a new record!

I recently received a phone call from some dodgy individuals claiming that my computer was compromised. I received a rather suspicious call from a gentleman with a pronounced Asian accent. He insisted that my computer had been compromised and urged me to power it on immediately! I pressed for the name of the company he represented, and after some back and forth, he simply blurted out "hard drive." Quite dodgy, if you ask me! I decided to hang up and reached out to 101, where they confirmed it was a well-known scam – apparently, everyone is aware of it. It’s absolutely baffling that no one seems able to put a stop to these nuisances. When I contacted BT, they mentioned that the number is untraceable as they operate through a server. I had a call from this number today, and at first, I found it awfully difficult to grasp who was on the line or what their business was. Initially, I thought they mentioned something about the Windows support team, but then they clarified it was actually Microsoft. Ordinarily, I would’ve inquired how they got my number, but having been warned about various scams, I decided against it. I simply said I wasn't interested and hung up straight away. I was a bit anxious since my computer was on, but thankfully, I hadn’t logged in, so I’m hoping nothing untoward happened.

What needs to happen for us to put a stop to these dodgy characters? We've got his number, and he’s clearly trying to swindle money through deceitful means. Hello there, It appears I'm in the same boat as many others. This begs the question: how on earth are these scammers still operating? Why on earth have they not been shut down ages ago? Are they merely your average con artists, or could there be something more sinister afoot, like a link to groups such as ISIS seeking to fund their activities? It’s quite alarming really, and it certainly doesn’t reflect well on the powers that be, making them seem as if they’re lacking any real effectiveness. Something needs to be done about this situation! Best wishes, Leigh.

I've just received a call from this number, and it seems to be the same old story. The chap on the line claimed my computer was in danger and insisted I switch it on while he waited. I asked him which Christmas tree he thought I’d toppled from to fall for such nonsense and told him to refrain from calling me again with his dodgy scheme to con folks out of their money. I also made it clear that my husband is in IT, so if there were any genuine issues, we'd be well aware! Utterly despicable behaviour...
