Had some bloke call me claiming to be a ‘personal home insulation advisor’! Said my loft insulation might be dangerous and needed checking. Told me he wasn’t one of those pushy salespeople, but it was clear he was after either selling me some inspection or replacement work, or just after cash for nothing. I blocked him straight away. Feels like a scam or at the very least an attempt to push unnecessary services on me. Could be more than just annoying, as I reckon older folks might get worried and end up spending money they don’t need to.

Got a call from some so-called ‘home insulation expert’ claiming my loft insulation might be dangerous. A lady with a northern accent called me claiming to be from some home maintenance service. She said my cavity wall insulation might be faulty and offered to send a guy over to inspect it for free. She said they were busy today but had availability tomorrow. I told her we weren't free then, and she immediately asked if Monday would work. Got a bit fed up then and told her to call back at the end of the month. Definitely added to my spam list.

Got a call from some home energy firm. Had a proper argument with the person on the other end who kept insisting they’d got my number from a third party. I picked up a call from this number but didn't say anything, just listened. Some bloke kept saying "Hello" over and over, but I stayed quiet. Then, sounding a bit irritated, he goes "Why even pick up then, love?" First off, why's he cold-calling me out of the blue? And secondly, I'm definitely not his 'love'! It was clear he got annoyed having his call answered with total silence. He clearly thinks his time matters way more than mine. You gotta push back - just give them the silent treatment!

Got a call from a lady asking if there was damp in my loft. When I asked how she got my number and why she was calling, she said it was because I had filled out an online form but forgot to tick a box! 😠 I haven't filled out any forms online or in papers. somebody called from heatseal sayin they can swap out window frames if they're older than 10 years. they claimed there's some kind of gov grant automatically ready if your windows qualify, and asked when would be good to arrange a quote. i found the caller quite persistent, but they backed off pretty fast once i mentioned my husband'd just left and the house was going into repossession!
