I use BT call guardian so most of these calls don’t ring through, but the number still appears on my call log. After seeing loads of people complaining about it, I’m definitely blocking it now. No idea how they got hold of my number either, as I’m ex-directory and only ever share my mobile. Plus, the call came ridiculously early, like 7.58 in the morning!

Some bloke called 'Mark' rang me, but he had one of those thick accents and mumbled so much I couldn’t make out which company he was from. Didn’t bother trying to listen and just hung up.

I got a call from a woman with a British accent, pre-recorded, saying it was Visa Direct. She claimed £600 had been withdrawn from my bank in the last quarter of an hour, supposedly sent through Western Union. She told me to press 1 if I wanted help to cancel it. I ended the call, hung around for a few minutes, then dialed 1471 to check if the number popped up. It did. Not sure if all these calls come from that same number, but this latest one definitely did.

Some bloke called himself Kevin, but his accent was the last thing you'd expect a Kevin to have. He said he was ringing from Platinum Supermarket and had a couple of questions to ask me. Told him to jog on first thing in the morning at 8:30. Total SCAM, watch out!

Got a call around 8:20 in the morning, and there was some kind of noise and people talking in the background. Decided to block the number right away.

Received a call from a chap wanting to speak to someone who doesn’t reside here. When I mentioned that the person he was after isn’t present, he surprisingly offered to assist me with a benefits claim - which, I should add, I don’t even possess! Clearly a scam, so I promptly blocked him. The very next day, I got another call from the same area code, albeit a different number, and wouldn’t you know it - the same spiel! So, off he went into my blocked list once more.

This morning at precisely 7:46, a woman with a distinctly foreign accent gave me a ring. It was Tuesday, 26th November 2019. I ended the call without engaging. The number displaying was 01952 299989.
