Got two calls from this number, couldn't really make out what was being said because of the noise in the background. The person asked if I was by my first name and had a strong foreign accent. Sounds just like what others have mentioned here.

Someone rang me up claiming I was due £9000 from the government, said they'd transfer it via MoneyGram. Sounded like a total con. The guy had a thick foreign accent that was hard to catch, plus there was loads of background noise which made it even worse. This is definitely a scam, so watch out and don’t fall for it!

So, I got a call saying the US government wanted to give me $9,009. When Sam asked me how I wanted the money, I said it didn’t really matter to me. Then the guy just told me to f... off and ended the call. He rang me three times today!

This number has rung me seven times over the space of just a few hours. Oddly, sometimes it shows up with two ones at the start, sometimes just one, and other times without any, making it just a nine-digit number. I picked up once, but there was nothing, just silence. I've now blocked all three versions of the number to see if that stops it. I can’t figure out what their game is. They don’t say a word, so it’s not like they’re pushing a sale or anything. Proper strange.

I’ve never had a call from this number before, but today they rang me four times in just a couple of hours. On the fourth ring I finally answered and said hello a couple times, and a young voice replied with a quick hi before hanging up. She sounded like she was somewhere noisy, maybe outside. Lots of people mention getting loads of calls lately, and I really hope this doesn’t turn into a regular thing for me. Also, maybe I’m being daft, but the first two calls showed the number starting with a 1, and the last two didn’t have it. Not sure what that means though.

So this number rang me a while back, I didn’t pick up first times but eventually did. I can’t quite recall what they said, just told them I wasn’t interested and to quit calling. They left me alone for a bit, then annoying calls started up again. Got a bit rude telling them to chill. The guy sounded like he had an Indian accent, so next call I picked up and went off on him, said something along the lines of hoping all the cows in India suffer and that he and his lot get stuck in eternal misery or whatever. Yeah, probably a bit over the top, but since then I haven’t had a single call for like 8 months, so I guess it worked!

Seriously, what's the government even doing? I've been on both the federal and state do not call lists forever now. This morning I got a call from some bloke who refused to say his name but insisted I owed money to the IRS. He kept pushing me to give him my credit card details. I pretended not to understand properly, and since I'm a bit hard of hearing, I mentioned that I caught something about the IRS owing me money. I asked if they’d be sending a cheque and if they could tell me the cheque number, or if it’d be going straight into my bank account. We’ve had calls from this number at my house several times now. When I drop the 1 at the start, it seems to be linked to a man in Milago, Spain. They never leave any voicemail, and we just don’t pick up if it’s someone we don’t recognise. Oddly enough, I can’t block the number either. Sometimes it even shows up as an invalid phone number, which I honestly don’t understand.
