Sounds like it was one of those fake robot voices, pretending to be from BT tech support. They said my internet would get disconnected in a day because they found hacking on my IP or something. They kept trying to get me to push buttons on the phone, which felt super dodgy. Having a recording wouldn't have done much in this case.
