My mum, who is in her 80s, got a call saying £600 had been withdrawn from her account. They told her to press "1" if she hadn’t done it. She was really shaken up. These idiots really ought to be put an end to.

I got a call from an Asian lady using the number 01949843227 saying something about "this is an urgent message from..." then that £600 had been taken from my bank. She told me to press 1 if I hadn’t done it. Being stupid, I actually hit 1. I’m off to my bank branch now to sort this out.

I got two calls from this number on my home phone today. The first time I picked up, there was nothing but silence and then a woman with an Indian accent started saying something about my computer. I just ended the call. When they rang back, it was the same quiet start but then a man, also sounding Indian, said he was from Microsoft and was calling about my PC. I told him I wasn’t interested and there’s nothing wrong with my computer, then I put the phone down.
