I’d only just sorted out cancelling my Prime subscription online because I didn’t even know I’d signed up until I spotted it on my bank statement. Then, I got this automated call about the £39.99 fee. They told me to press ‘1’ to cancel, which I did, but when they asked me to log into my Amazon account, I quickly twigged it was a scam. I said no and then the caller just hung up on me. I’m not sure if the call was triggered by me cancelling or if it was just a complete coincidence they rang right then.

Got a call from this number today claiming £600 had been withdrawn from my debit Mastercard overseas. They told me to press 1 if I wanted to block or approve the payment, but never gave a name or any details. Seems dodgy to me, probably just another scam. I'd be careful about hitting 1 - no clue what that could lead to.
