Just got a voicemail from someone calling themselves Shirley, claiming my internet IP had been hacked by a bunch of foreign countries. She said if I didn’t press 1 to get some help, my internet would get cut off in a day. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a call like that too, some automated message with an Indian accent saying my IP was hacked in loads of places. Normally I just say thanks and tell them I’ll have my tech guy check it out. But today I hit number one. After what felt like ages, a bloke with a British accent came on and asked if I was at my computer and what was showing on the screen. I told him I don’t share that info with random callers, and he got all sarky like, “So I’m a complete stranger then, am I?” and just hung up on me. Pretty cheeky.

Got a call from someone with a foreign accent warning me I'd lose my connection if I didn't do something. I just hung up straight away and blocked the number so they can't bother me again.

just got this dodgy call about changing my ip address, they said it’d switch to their computer or something like that. then they threatened to cut off my internet, can you believe it? if they really had that power, why bother calling me in the first place? honestly, this one’s so obvious even someone blind on a fast horse could spot the scam!

I just went through the exact same situation.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be "BT tech support," saying my IP had been hacked in California. When I asked for my BT ID to prove it, the bloke got all angry and said “Alright smarty, I’m gonna ring your missus and sort something out with her.” Took that as a proper threat. Why aren’t the providers or authorities cracking down on this constant nuisance? It’s relentless!

this lady called Shirley from some internet company or something, keeps ringing from a new number every time, never says the company's name. she’s been on about me getting cut off for like two months now. honestly, I reckon my kids washing up is more likely than me losing internet!
