Next, they call pretending your account’s been compromised and ask you to transfer your money to a ‘safe’ account. Spoiler: that account belongs to them, and your cash is gone. I’m a fraud analyst at a bank and we deal with this scam daily. Best advice? Don’t pick up the call, just block the number straight away!

Got a dodgy call earlier, this bloke said it was from three. Asked me to say how much my monthly bill was to prove it was me. Gave him some rubbish figure he clearly hadn’t a clue about. Pretty clear it was a scam. When I cheekily asked if he was trying to con me, he just cut the phone off! 😂😂😂

A bloke rang up saying he was from EE and offering me a half price deal. I told him I’m actually with EE too, working in their counter fraud team, so I could trace the call if I wanted. He swore at me and hung up straight away. Proper cheeky!

I told him I'm fine with my current plan, cheers. Then he asks if I use the O2 app, and I said no, since I'm with Tesco Mobile. Out of nowhere, he just ended the call! Honestly, that was a bit cheeky - I was actually up for a natter 😂😂
