I've come across one of those dodgy vaccine schemes. They shoot you a message, pretending to be from the NHS, doling out information about Covid. Occasionally it’s about vaccines, other times it’s regarding testing, but the bottom line is - it's all a con!

Theres a load of dodgy calls going about offering vaccine stuff, be careful its probably a scam.

Whenever someone rings claiming to be from the NHS, ask them to verify your NHS number. If you know it, try giving them a made-up number nearby to see if they confirm it. If they do, it’s a scam for sure, so either end the call or keep them talking. I usually say something like, "I’m struggling with loads of side effects from my vaccines, can you assist?" Then I just invent loads of health problems that I don’t have. It’s worked well for me and they usually don’t bother calling back.

Was feeling a bit bored so I picked up the call, but as soon as I caught the accent and they started talking about the NHS, I quickly cut them off. Told them I couldn’t wait around because I was expecting an important call and then ended it straight away.

Got a call from someone asking if I was Miss Toni, then he started quizzing me about my Covid jab status. The guy had a strong accent, didn’t sound local at all, but they said they were calling from some place in Wisbech. I didn’t hang around though - told him off about privacy laws and how it’s no one’s concern, then ended the call.

I got a call from someone with a foreign accent who said they were ringing for the NHS. I’ve heard this one before but figured I’d humour them. They started quizzing me about life insurance - whether I had any and how much I was paying. When I asked why the NHS needed that info, they came up with some story about tracking covid stuff and possible payouts. I told them it’s none of their business, but they kept pushing for a number. Eventually, I just ended the call.

No idea who that was, yet somehow they knew my name?? When I asked which firm they were from since I didn't pick up when they called me by name, they just asked if I was having a nice day then hung up. The person on the other end claimed to have my NHS number alongside my postcode, but both details were completely wrong.

I received a call regarding my number, but they had completely mixed up the name and address. They claimed I’d registered for an NHS Covid survey, which I hadn't. When I corrected them, they resorted to calling me an irritating, foolish white woman, throwing out expletives before abruptly hanging up. Quite the unpleasant experience!
