This number rang me a few days back. A woman named Angelina, sounded Indian, got in touch and then phoned again in the evening. She claimed to be from a mobile network, but it wasn’t the one I use. I’ve blocked the number now!

Watch out, this is definitely a scam. The FCA’s website actually has a notice about them being an unauthorised firm, telling people not to trust or engage with them. Don’t get caught out!

Got a call from some unknown number claiming that £900 had been taken from my bank and to "press one for help." I double-checked my account and it was all made up. I've blocked the number and reported it. Watch out for these scammers!

Got a call earlier from someone saying they were with Vodafone. They wanted to check my line’s address, but I told them to wait since if it’s really Vodafone, they’d know I’ve got a PIN set up. The person then asked for the first and third digits of my PIN. I just gave them some made-up numbers because I was already suspicious. They replied that the numbers were right and thanked me. Totally not true though, so I told them never to ring me again. Had to block the number after that. - Caller pretended to be Vodafone.

If you just block or ignore these calls, they won’t get into your account. They hide their real number for a reason, it’s never legit. And if the number starts with +44, it’s probably not a proper landline, more like a robo call. Make sure you report such scams to phishing.gov.uk or text ‘dall’ to 7726 to help stop them.

This caller is totally a joke, and I’m pretty sure this message was put up by some scammers.

Complete scam alert! They claimed they’d secured me a payout of £2550 plus £1550 interest from my bank for some bogus PPI compensation. When I asked what bank I used, I told them “Bank of Paris” (which doesn’t exist), and they had absolutely no clue! They then gave me some reference and ID numbers and said they never ask for bank or card info. Apparently, the money was sitting in a “wallet” or something? Then they passed me on to another guy, who seemed to be Asian. He asked for those ID and reference numbers again, but I fed him fake ones this time. He got all confused and asked for my phone number to “verify” the numbers. After that, he gave me completely different ID and ref numbers, saying these were the right ones. He then accused me of being “bad with tech” and offered to help me access this wallet. Next, he told me to put my phone on loudspeaker (which felt sketchy) and to download an app called Anydesk from the Play Store. That app would’ve let him control my phone remotely to steal passwords, bank info, identity details - everything. These con artists need putting down for good. I’ve already reported them to the police and the Financial Conduct Authority for phishing. Stay right away from any calls like this!
