9 yearsAnnoying scammer who just won't leave me alone.9 yearsNonstop ringing but nobody speaks, just dead air then they cut off.9 yearsYeah, they called me again claiming to be from BT. Obviously, they're fishing for your card info, so DON’T give them your address or anything. Maybe you could mess around with them like some folks do, giving fake numbers and info - that way they’ll end up with rubbish data and won’t be able to use or sell your details. When I wasted about 30 minutes feeding them nonsense, they rang back threatening to keep calling - proper scumbags.BT9 yearsThis number rang me saying it was BT Promotions, offering a third off my bills. A lady with a strong foreign accent asked for my postcode. When I asked where she was calling from, she said 'Cambridge'. I asked for the address and she gave 21 Station Street Cambridge, but wouldn't share the postcode unless I gave mine first. I told her that if she was truly from BT, she should already know if I’m a customer. She then sounded quite hostile, so I ended the call.BT PromotionsCambridgeStation StreetBT9 yearsA woman claiming to be Taylor from BT, asking about my BT account and how I was doing, phoned me once on 5th June and then three times just today, 6th June. I'm pretty certain it's a scam, so I told her I wasn’t interested and ended the call. The last time she rang, same voice, I told her "you've called me three times already today, I’m reporting you to the Police." She hung up sharpish after that.TaylorBT9 yearsFraud alert! I've stopped even bothering to pick up. Told them I'm not with BT and that there's no way I'm giving out my bank info. No matter how often I ask to be removed from their list, they keep ringing. Today I finally snapped, ended the call, and then they rang back 5 times straight after. Bloody annoying!BT9 yearsThis morning, I received a phone call from an Indian gentleman. He was offering special discounts and free line rental for the next two months. During the call, he even mentioned my name, address, phone number, and postcode. Then, he asked me to confirm my bank details. That's when I firmly told him to go away and leave me be!9 yearsA woman said her name was Grace and said she was from BT. I told her straight away I knew she was lying. She called me just yesterday as well but when I picked up no one said anything.GraceBT9 yearsWhat I do is simple: if they don’t answer right away or there’s awkward silence with weird sounds, I just hang up. It became evident that this was a scammer operating from an Indian call center.BT9 yearsToday, I received a call from a lady on this number. She was offering me substantial discounts on my bt account. Although she knew my name, she had my previous address which left me puzzled. I had taken my number with me when I moved. On a positive note, BT offers a free call protection scheme that effectively blocks unwanted calls. It can also be managed online, allowing you to block specific numbers of your choosing.BT9 yearsThe woman claimed to be from BT, offering us discounts. Sadly, it was my husband who took the call. He provided our bank's name, postcode, address, and confirmed that we paid through direct debit. Fortunately, when the lady requested the last four digits of our bank card, he became suspicious and declined. Strangely enough, she still managed to provide him with the four numbers. YESTERDAY MOST CALLS CAME FROM AREAS LIKE BOURNEMOUTH AND LIVERPOOL. THIS MORNING, LOTS FROM SUNDERLAND. IF YOU GET A RING FROM THIS NUMBER AND DON’T KNOW WHO IT IS, JUST IGNORE IT. Usually they just hang up and don’t bother ringing again.9 yearsThis number rang me today, and it’s not the first time they’ve tried other numbers of mine. I haven’t been with BT for over a decade, yet apparently I’m a “loyal customer” - if this isn’t a scam, they really need to update their records. Plus, I’m on the TPS list (which doesn’t seem to help much) and have been for years. I reckon they’re scammers, but they don’t get long on the phone with me to prove otherwise. I don’t purchase anything from cold callers - if I want something, I’ll go looking for it myself!Service9 yearsthis woman called saying she was from bt and that i had an account with them for ages, offering discounts and all. i cut her off mid-sentence to say she needed to talk to the managing director. when i told her it was a business, she said sorry and hung up. anyone who gets a call like this should be really careful about sharing any details.BT9 yearsgot a call from a woman today, but her accent was quite hard to catch. she claimed since i’m a loyal customer, i could get free calls and no line rental for 3 months. she wanted to check my postcode and the one she mentioned hasn’t been used since 1999. she kept saying she was from bt, but when she asked for my bank info, i just ended the call. be careful out there!BT9 yearsIt's unclear what exactly they're seeking, but given the number of similar reports from the Manchester region, it's possible that this is yet another attempt to capitalize on the ransomware trend.Manchester9 yearsThis is my own phone number and I can promise I have no connection to BT.
