Yeah, they called me again claiming to be from BT. Obviously, they're fishing for your card info, so DON’T give them your address or anything. Maybe you could mess around with them like some folks do, giving fake numbers and info - that way they’ll end up with rubbish data and won’t be able to use or sell your details. When I wasted about 30 minutes feeding them nonsense, they rang back threatening to keep calling - proper scumbags.

This number rang me saying it was BT Promotions, offering a third off my bills. A lady with a strong foreign accent asked for my postcode. When I asked where she was calling from, she said 'Cambridge'. I asked for the address and she gave 21 Station Street Cambridge, but wouldn't share the postcode unless I gave mine first. I told her that if she was truly from BT, she should already know if I’m a customer. She then sounded quite hostile, so I ended the call.

A woman claiming to be Taylor from BT, asking about my BT account and how I was doing, phoned me once on 5th June and then three times just today, 6th June. I'm pretty certain it's a scam, so I told her I wasn’t interested and ended the call. The last time she rang, same voice, I told her "you've called me three times already today, I’m reporting you to the Police." She hung up sharpish after that.

This woman named Grace, sounded Indian, said she was calling from BT Accounts. She told me since I was a loyal customer, I could get free calls and no line rental for 3 months. She read out my phone number but got my postcode wrong. I told her it was wrong and she claimed her info was out of date and asked for the new postcode. I told her I’ve been with BT at the same place the whole time. When I asked for my account number, she just rambled nonsense. Hung up on her! Definitely a SCAM!!

got a call from a woman today, but her accent was quite hard to catch. she claimed since i’m a loyal customer, i could get free calls and no line rental for 3 months. she wanted to check my postcode and the one she mentioned hasn’t been used since 1999. she kept saying she was from bt, but when she asked for my bank info, i just ended the call. be careful out there!

It's unclear what exactly they're seeking, but given the number of similar reports from the Manchester region, it's possible that this is yet another attempt to capitalize on the ransomware trend.

This is my own phone number and I can promise I have no connection to BT. Since the 15th, I’ve been getting calls non-stop from all over England, about one every couple of minutes. When I answer, some of the callers say they’re returning my call, which I never made. Now I just hang up straight away and delete the messages from my voicemail because I’m so fed up with it. I’ve reported the issue to both Sky and BT and they’re looking into it. Please just ignore any calls you get from this number unless you actually know it, as they aren’t legit.

@ woman rang me claiming she was from BT with some special deal where I'd get a discount and no charges for 3 months. Struggled loads to understand her, sounded like she wasn’t local. Felt dodgy so told her I wasn’t interested and hung up. She called back almost straight away and started on about knowing my number or something but I missed most of what she said!

got a call earlier from someone called jacob claiming i’m a loyal bt customer and that if i paid my bills on time i’d get a 35% discount for the next 3 months. sounded like a typical scam to me. i asked for a phone number to call back and he gave me 0800 800 152. then i asked him to send the info to my email but obviously didn’t give any personal info. definitely a scam, watch out!

this was BT (maybe the call came from india). they phoned me with an offer for a discount on my current broadband and landline, but the lady on the phone was really unfriendly and kept saying i lived in a totally different postcode than where i actually do. thinking it was a scam, i rang BT to check, and turns out it was a legit call. they definitely need to train their people to be more polite!
