2 yearsOn the 30th of April 2024, at precisely 12:50, I got a rather peculiar call from 01942 815352. The message was quite alarming: "Your BT service is on the verge of being suspended. Press 1 for assistance." The voice had a distinct English lilt, though it was hard to pin down its origins, likely somewhere in the southeast. Not long after, curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to ring back the number, only to be greeted by a man whose accent seemed to suggest he hailed from Sheffield. It became abundantly clear this was not a legitimate BT call.Press 1Sheffield2 yearsSomeone said £499 had been taken from my bank, but I just hung up and blocked that number straight away.
