I have no clue who called. All I heard was some random background noise. If this was a proper meter reading firm, they wouldn't be ringing this number - it's my work phone and isn’t linked to anything to do with managing the building. I highly doubt that these individuals are affiliated with N Power, as that’s not the energy supplier I use. It seems to me that they might be playing a game of getting ahead of the queue before you’ve even had a chance to submit your meter readings online, subsequently billing suppliers in the process. As soon as I got their call, I made sure to block their number right away.

they seem to be some middle man for energy providers. I had a meter replaced and after reading the comments here, I figured out that’s who was ringing me. I rang them back but when they first called, they just dropped the call!

Got a call from someone claiming to be my energy company, Green Star, asking for meter readings. I usually put them in online but not every time. They sounded legit, only asked for the readings, no personal info, so I gave them. The caller was a woman with a northern accent, really nice and seemed honest.

I just blocked the number on my iPhone. They kept ringing me from Birmingham and every time I picked up, they’d hang up straight away without saying a word. As a Green Star customer, I’m really not happy about this. They better find a different method to collect meter readings because I’m definitely gonna keep blocking these calls.

This is what Green Star Energy told me.----------Lowri Beck are the folks who read our meters, and we hire them to do it for our customers. By law, they must check your meters at least twice annually. My response---------- But if they’re ringing me up, they obviously aren’t physically reading the meters, so are they just getting paid for doing nothing? Feels like just another annoying nuisance call in the endless stream I keep getting.

I keep receiving incessant calls from Lowri Beck, and it’s truly becoming a nuisance. They constantly say they represent various companies, yet I have no affiliation with any of them. I've received numerous calls from this outfit insisting they must check my meters, which frankly is absurd since I've submitted all my readings recently. If I don’t pick up, they never bother to leave a message, and when I do engage, they refuse to properly identify who they are. Said they were from my “energy provider” but never said which one and left a voicemail asking me to ring back and give them loads of personal details like my full name, address, postcode and my meter readings. Honestly, feels like a phishing attempt to me.

Got a call from Lowri Beck, they’re working with my energy supplier Ovo Energy. They wanted to fix a problem with my Smart Meter that’s been acting up since it got put in a few months back. The person on the phone had a strong northern accent and talked quite fast, so it was a bit tricky to catch everything, but I got what the call was about. Seemed legit to me.

When I mentioned that I usually submit my readings whenever they're requested, she insisted that they needed an "extra reading." Received a call on the 3rd of February from someone purporting to be from Bristol Energy, my energy supplier. They were asking for my meter readings, yet the call came from a number registered in Wigan, while both my energy provider and I are situated in Bristol! As I consistently receive email reminders on the 6th of each month- which I promptly respond to-there was really no need for this phone call. I've since reached out to my energy provider to ensure that these unsolicited calls cease immediately.

Got a call on 3rd Feb from someone saying they work for Bristol Energy, my energy supplier, asking for meter readings. But the call came from a number in Wigan, and both me and Bristol Energy are Bristol-based! When I looked online, it seems it's a company called Lowri Beck. Got a call earlier from this number asking for our meter readings. Like someone else mentioned, our gas meter is outside and it was chucking it down! The lady on the phone was a bit hard to understand but said she’d call back once I’d gone out to check the gas meter and got on a chair with a torch to see the electricity one. Everything was sorted fine and I reckon the call was legit. Still, if energy firms really need these readings, why don’t they just send a proper meter reader? I received a rather peculiar call this evening, with someone requesting that I provide an electric meter reading over the phone. Now, I’ve never had my energy supplier ask for that sort of information this way. Given that it was lashing down with rain and completely dark outside, I politely declined, explaining the situation. I mentioned I’d send the reading through the usual channels come morning. The call came in around 5pm.

Got a call from a company called Lorri Beck around 7.45pm saying they were from Npower asking for a meter reading. I told them it was dark outside and they seemed sorry about that. I said no thanks. When I asked if the online reading I submitted at the weekend hadn’t gone through, they confessed they weren’t actually with Npower and couldn’t see online readings, just work as a meter reading firm. They apologised, but honestly I think it was a pointless and annoying call.

Frankly, we aren’t particularly fond of the endless barrage of these calls. When's this feeble government going to take action to safeguard us from these bothersome foreign call centres and actually bring some jobs back to the UK? Yeah, they’re a legit firm called Lowry Beck, who do meter readings for different energy companies - I just got confirmation from my own supplier. Seems like they don’t have as much info on my account as my actual energy provider does. The first person I spoke to at the energy company wasn’t sure about them, but the second person at the call centre did confirm it. My husband gave the electricity reading but chose not to go outside in the rain for the gas one. They weren’t at all pushy though.

About a week ago, a Lowri Beck meter reader came to my place and the very next day I submitted my dual fuel readings online. The meter guy only checked the electric meter, even though my supplier covers both electric and gas. Seems like they might be planning to chase up the gas reading later, but I’ve already provided that. Bit of a mess if you ask me.
