4 yearsGot a call from 01942314431, turned out to be one of those life insurance scams. Be careful, folks!5 yearsGot a call from someone pretending to be from the tax office about some supposed unpaid tax. Funny thing is, they never even bothered to ask my name! So, I asked for a reference number linked to me and, surprise surprise, they couldn’t provide one. Then I wanted a contact name and number to ring back, but all I got was threats about paying immediately or facing arrest (big yawn). I asked how much I supposedly owed because I needed to head to the bank, but they had no clue. Fed up by then, I called them out as a scammer and told them I’d be reporting it to the police.5 yearsI received a rather dubious phone call earlier today from what appeared to be a local number, but the voice on the other end had a distinctly Asian accent. The individual claimed to be from the 'tax office', alleging that I had six months' worth of unpaid taxes. When I pressed him for a reference number to verify his claims, he floundered and couldn't provide one. I then requested a name and contact number to call back, but he merely insisted that I cough up the money immediately or face arrest! Naturally, I asked how much I supposedly owed, but he couldn’t furnish that detail or even my name; he simply kept repeating my phone number. I called him out as a scammer and mentioned that I’d be reporting his number to the authorities. He carried on with his threats despite my challenge! To add to the bizarre scene, there were numerous other voices in the background, all echoing similar demands.Submit Your Own Report (01942 491331)
