Today at 2:57pm, this number rang me but I didn’t pick up, which I'm glad about. From what I’ve seen, it looks like one of those fake NHS calls pretending to be about Covid at first, but they quickly switch to asking about life insurance and stuff. Got a call from a man with an Asian accent saying he was from the NHS. He only knew my first name and started asking if I’d had the COVID vaccine and about any side effects. When I asked what the barcode was for, they said it might serve as a vaccine passport. Then they went on to ask about my life insurance. I wasn’t sure why that mattered, so I just ended the call. The whole thing felt pretty suspicious.

Some guy called Victor reckoned we qualified for some sort of government debt assistance and claimed our info had already been shared with them, all under GDPR rules or whatever. Then he asked about my debt amount - I said around 4 or 5 grand. I told him he should already know, since he supposedly had my info, which made him quite rude all of a sudden. The caller quickly tried to backpedal, saying they’d made a mistake, but I pressed for details. Then they suddenly said there was an error, told me to ring 111 if I had concerns about debts, and hung up straight away. I only went along with it because I was bored, usually I’d just hang up immediately. Definitely seemed dodgy - watch out!

When someone rang me claiming to be from the NHS and started asking about my vaccination details, I decided to call their bluff. Since I actually work for the NHS, I told them that such info is strictly confidential and we wouldn’t be making calls asking for it. I then requested to speak to a supervisor, but the person, speaking in broken English, claimed to be the NHS manager. It was clear they were just reading off a script and struggling with the language. When I asked where they were calling from, they said Victoria, London, but the number showed Wigan. I questioned if they were just reading prompts, and their reply was bizarre, asking if I wanted to meet up to give them my vaccination status. Eventually, they just hung up on me. So that was the end of that nonsense!

I got a call from someone with a heavy foreign accent, really hard to understand.
