Today at 2:57pm, this number rang me but I didn’t pick up, which I'm glad about. From what I’ve seen, it looks like one of those fake NHS calls pretending to be about Covid at first, but they quickly switch to asking about life insurance and stuff. These scam calls seem to be coming from loads of different numbers these days!

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent saying he was from the NHS. He only knew my first name and started asking if I’d had the COVID vaccine and about any side effects. Then, oddly, he wanted my life insurance info. I asked why that was necessary, and he insisted he was from the NHS and wasn’t trying to sell anything. When I pressed him further, he just muttered something and hung up on me.

Someone rang me saying they were from the NHS. They wanted to know if I’d had my booster, whether I had any side effects, and if my GP had sent me a letter with a barcode. When I asked what the barcode was for, they said it might serve as a vaccine passport. Then they went on to ask about my life insurance. I wasn’t sure why that mattered, so I just ended the call. The whole thing felt pretty suspicious.

I got a call from someone saying they were with the NHS support team and told me i’d get my COVID vaccine passport soon. Then the chat shifted and they asked if I’m having trouble paying utility bills and said the government might be able to help out. Later, they even asked about any loans I might have with banks. Seems pretty dodgy to me, so I don’t trust this number at all.

Got a call from a bloke who said his name was Eric, ringing from the NHS Covid team. He mentioned 'Wigan' at some point. He called me Miss and even used my first name, which was a bit odd. When I asked what the call was about, he kind of muttered something I couldn’t catch, so I pressed him a bit more for answers. Suddenly, he just dropped the call. I’ve since blocked the number on my phone.

I received a call from someone claiming to be with the NHS, inquiring about my booster jab and any adverse reactions I've had from the vaccine. They went on to ask if I had my vaccine certificate saved on my phone. Curiously, they also wanted to discuss my life insurance. I've just received a call from this number myself. The caller's command of English was rather poor. They were inquiring about my vaccinations and then swiftly shifted the conversation to life insurance. I firmly told him to "jog on" and ended the call. What a shambles! It's quite concerning for those who might be less discerning and fall prey to this nonsense. I have a sneaking suspicion that had I continued the conversation, they would have been after my bank details before long. Part of me wishes I had played along just to uncover their tactics. It baffles me how these fraudsters manage to evade detection and continue their deceitful activities.

Received a call that purported to be from the NHS inquiring about my vaccinations and any side effects I might have experienced. They then veered off into a spiel about assisting with pandemic-related financial issues, to which I responded that I had no such needs. They persisted, claiming I had some debts that they could help me with, so I probed further, confused and asked for clarification on what these so-called debts were. Suddenly, he backtracked, claiming a misunderstanding, but I pressed on, wanting details. He quickly stammered that it was an error on his part, and if I had any worry about debts, I should ring 111, before hanging up in a hurry! I decided to challenge this individual when they inquired about my vaccination status, claiming to be affiliated with the NHS. What made it rather amusing was that I'm actually employed by the NHS myself. I clearly stated that such information is classified and it is unheard of for the NHS to reach out like that. I requested to speak with a supervisor, and he replied in a rather broken manner that he was the manager. It was quite evident he was struggling with the language and seemed to be reading from a script. When I queried where he was calling from, he claimed to be in Victoria, London, while I pointed out that the number was associated with Wigan. I pressed him on whether he was reading a prompt and, rather bizarrely, he suggested I meet him to discuss the vaccination status face-to-face. Not surprisingly, he eventually hung up on me, and that was the end of that saga!

I had a rather curious encounter with someone claiming to be from NHS England. They were insistent that they were legitimate, yet when I asked for my NHS number-something they should have had access to-they were completely unable to provide it, despite having my name. The conversation took a bizarre turn when they probed about my COVID vaccinations and any potential side effects, only to swiftly pivot to questions regarding my debts and life insurance. What really raised my suspicions was the considerable lag between each of my responses and theirs, which led me to surmise that this might actually be an international caller.
