Had a call earlier today from someone who actually knew my name and even mentioned I’d been searching online about PPI claims - how on earth did they find that out? He gave me his company name, but I couldn’t catch it properly, and it was clear he wasn’t with my bank. Besides, my bank would never ring me like that. It was pretty unsettling, to be honest. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number through BT now. I’m also on the TPS, but it doesn’t seem to stop these annoying calls at all.

For the last few weeks, I’ve been getting loads of calls from this number, sometimes several times each day. Most of the time, I just keep the handset off the hook so it sounds busy and stops them from ringing through to others. When they first called, I picked up but it was clearly a call centre on the other end, so I’ve since blocked the number. Just to share, I've been using Sky Talk Shield for a while now and it's worked great, stopping all those annoying calls on my landline. That said, yesterday I did get a call from 01942316457 at about 2:17pm on 29th May. A lady with an accent I couldn't quite place was on the line, chatting about Boiler Services and asking if I even had a boiler. I told her straight away not to bother ringing again, mentioning that these annoying calls are meant to be blocked and it’s odd she got through at all. She ended the call pretty sharp after that.
