019422316019 rang me again but I ignored it. I'm pretty sure they'll keep ringing all day. My phone has an answermachine and if someone doesn't leave a message I just assume it’s a telemarketer. I started doing this because I’m fed up with all these scam calls. I told all my mates and family to leave a message if they want me to call back. That’s just how I handle it these days. Honestly, I don’t really need a landline but I have a deal with it, so I’ve gotta keep it for now.

Had a caller today purporting to be from Green Measures Ltd., supposedly offering insights into government grants for doors and windows. I wouldn’t go near them with a ten-foot pole! I made the mistake of paying a deposit to these folks, but after I didn’t receive the promised “further information,” I decided to cancel within the stipulated 7-day cooling-off period. No sign of a refund, and this lot have ignored all my subsequent letters. To top it all off, they’ve just dialled me up again with the same pitch and then abruptly hung up! Avoid like the plague!

I told them if they couldn’t say why they wanted to speak to the homeowner, I’d end the call, then I hung up. The same number called back and the person said, “You’re quite rude, aren’t you? Maybe you’ll learn some manners,” then just hung up. We’re signed up with the TPS, so hopefully they’ll think twice and stop calling or face a hefty penalty.

I got a call from a firm called something like Green Measures, claiming they’d taken over a company that had folded. I’d apparently asked for a quote for some work back in 2016, which I seriously doubt. They said they were ringing from Bradford, but that wasn’t true at all. So if they’re fibbing about that, who knows what else they’re not being honest about? Feels like a bit of a scam to me.

Last year, Green Measures kept ringing us up while we were sorting out quotes for new soffits and fascias. Their salesperson came round, spent a good two hours chatting, and gave us a rough price verbally, but no written quote or anything official with a letterhead. We also got quotes from three other companies, and their price was easily double the others. So, naturally, we went with a different firm. Still, Green Measures won’t stop phoning us even after we asked them to. I think it’s time to just block their number.

Had some new guttering fitted by GreenMeasure Windows UPVC, and honestly the installers did a bang-up job, no complaints there. But the sales team? Totally different story. They were borderline pushy, kept pestering me, and even tried using Google Earth pics to say I didn’t have cavity wall insulation, which felt really dodgy. Sorry GreenMeasure, but any plans I had for more work with you are completely scrapped now (yes, pun intended).

Last year I had Green Measures, a firm from Bradford, swap the glass in most of my windows since they were fitted over two decades ago and needed upgrading. They did a good job, very efficient and I’ve no complaints. However, I've been getting calls from a number based in Wigan trying to sell me more work. Looks like it’s a commission agent calling on their behalf, pushing some government grant scheme they said I’m eligible for. I’m not claiming benefits though, so not sure I qualify. I only picked up because the number looked local, but I’m just ignoring it now.

They promised someone would phone me with the rep's name, but no one did. They also said someone would come round between 11 and 11:30 am, but no one showed up. I’m on the ex-directory list and signed up with the TPS, which is why I ended up getting new phone numbers with call guardian installed. Honestly, I couldn’t stand all the cold calls anymore and needed a way to stop them.

An old lady got a call from this number saying her double glazing needed to be changed since it was 10 years old, even tho it’s actually 15 years old. She told him she owns her flat, then he went on about power of attorney. When she said yes and asked who it was, she told him she didn’t wanna continue and just hung up. Why didn’t he say who he was straight away? And why the hell does power of attorney matter for double glazing? Plus, how did he even get her number? She's ex-directory!
