I received a call that popped up as an international number, but I noticed that the local area code, 01942, was displayed on my phone too. It left me rather perplexed. The voice on the line, a rather posh English lady, was giving me a robotic pitch claiming to be from BT, informing me that my internet connection had been compromised and would cease to function within the next day. I was urged to press 1 immediately to prevent any disruptions. Of course, since it was a pre-recorded message, I doubt my response would be taken into account. I hung up promptly and checked the number using 1471, but, as expected, it wasn't recognisable at all. Best to block and ignore this one; just another deceptive attempt from someone pretending to be associated with BT!
