Following up on what I said before - I reckon this number is actually from Gurej city in Jammu and Kashmir. Their area code is +91 (0)1942, but my phone doesn’t seem to show the international prefix properly on caller ID. So this call isn’t coming from Wigan at all! When I looked up the full STD code internationally, loads of scam calls popped up linked to this number and others nearby in the same series.

Had a go at ringing back, saw the code was from Wigan. Didn’t manage to get through 'cause I’ve got this call blocker on.

this number says it’s from Wigan, the 01942 area code, but I’m not convinced. some robotic voice told me my internet company was trying to get hold of me about my ip being hacked and that it needed fixing. they wanted me to press ‘1’ to talk to tech support. i just ended the call straight away.
