I received a rather suspicious call today (30/12/2021). The line was taken over by a robotic voice claiming that my Amazon account had a £700 order placed, and they had put it on hold. They urged me to press 1 to speak with someone from their team. I chose not to engage and ended the call instead. It struck me as a bit off, especially since Amazon wouldn’t have my home number, and there was nothing on my account that matched that amount. I have a strong feeling this was an attempt to con me.
