Since I recently moved, my address wasn’t showing up, so they also wanted my driving licence number. Felt dodgy handing over all that info on the phone to people I didn’t even know. You might finally reach someone who genuinely seems to grasp the issue you’re inquiring about, but, alas, they’re usually unable to provide any real assistance.
