He got in touch and said he worked for some company but never mentioned which one. Then he started asking for my bank details, saying he needed to verify something. I knew straight away it was a scam, no way was I giving him any info.

Someone rang me saying they were from a charity and asked if I wanted to give a donation. I told them no and hung up straight away. It’s not that I don’t want to donate, I just prefer not to do it online or over the phone as I worry it might be a scam. I usually like to support local charities in person.

For the past week, ive been getting phone calls almost every day, most of them just silent and hang up after a bit. Lately, they’ve started calling me really early in the morning, and i’ve been woken up twice already. It feels like harassment. The only thing the caller ever says is some random name i dont recognise.

My elderly mum got a call from someone claiming to be from a local church, saying they were collecting donations. She trusted them and ended up giving her bank info over the phone. Turns out it was a scam. So disappointing!
