I got a call that said it was from BT, but it was a weird robot voice that didn’t sound right - more like a bloke trying to sound like a robot, or maybe those robot voices are just getting too clever now! They said something about shutting down my BT phone and broadband account (which is odd because we don’t even have BT broadband). The automated message told me to press "1" to talk about my account or "2" to go ahead with disconnecting. I just hung up instead of pressing anything. I reckon if I’d pressed a button, it would’ve landed me in some costly trap for sure.
