I've picked up the phone only to be met with silence-quite suspect, I must say. It feels like one of those dodgy scams aimed at enticing you to ring them back.

I've just received a rather peculiar phone call from some outfit claiming to represent Nationwide Car Repairs. The voice on the other end was a rather giggly lady who seemed to know that I'd recently been in a bit of a bump. She was waffling on about a CAT C insurance payout. I decided to let her ramble for a bit before I interjected, pointing out that all matters regarding claims were being handled by my insurance company, and all communication should be directed through them. If she truly was who she claimed, she'd know my insurer’s details! After I said that, she thanked me in a rather flustered manner and swiftly ended the call. Clearly, it’s just a dodgy insurance scam trying to fish for information, using the bare-bones data they can scrape from insurance sites, alluding to the fact that my car might be a write-off. Quite cheeky, if you ask me!
