I received a call from a chap with an Indian accent who claimed my computer was in peril. He presented himself as a legitimate Windows technician and tried to sell me his services. Quite evidently, it was a scam!

I asked if he really would mug an elderly woman walking down the road. He just acted like he didn’t catch what I said. Then I told him he was a nasty crook who’s embarrassed his whole family. After that, he just ended the call.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, telling me there were issues with my computer, just like others have said. Honestly, don’t ever trust random people ringing you up claiming your PC’s got problems. It’s most likely a scam and could cause serious trouble. Stay alert!

Got a call at the office from a bloke claiming to be Windows support, said he was Indian. He asked my mate to punch in some stuff on his PC, but when my mate refused, the guy totally lost it. Started saying stuff like, "You don’t know who I am, I’m from Syria, I know your full name and where you live, I’m ISIS," then just slammed the phone down. Tried calling back the number but nobody picked up.

I got a call from an Indian woman telling me there was a problem with my computer. I've told these types to stop before, calling them liars and saying I’d report them to the police, which seems to annoy them. This time, I let her keep chatting and got passed onto a bloke. I asked where he was located and he said 21 Station Road, Tenbridge. When I asked where Tenbridge was, he just said UK. Pushing further about the county, he just kept repeating "UK" and the address like a broken record. He also mentioned a big warehouse and HQ in the US. In the end, he just hung up on me.

They called me again earlier today, but it was all robotic and kept saying "You're the only person on this call right now." Bit weird, not gonna lie!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from a Windows tech support firm, saying my computer had some issue. Don’t bother calling back the number you see on your caller ID because it’s not a real line anymore. They use some kind of automated system that lets them show whatever caller ID they want at the start of the call. I actually witnessed it happening myself. The area code is from Wellingborough, but that doesn’t mean the call really came from there. These lot ran the exact same scam with that number last year too. Seems like they’re trying to make a quick buck again.

Got calls from 01933672576 saying there was an issue with my Windows PC. They rang me 3 times within a day. I asked them to stop calling me straight away. By the last call, I even warned them I'd report them to the police. The person claimed it wasn’t a scam and they seemed to be calling from India.

Got a couple of calls from someone claiming to be from the Windows tech support trying to “fix” my PC. When I asked if they needed my bank details to clean me out, the lady just said yep, that's exactly what she wanted! Either they’re drop-dead honest or completely daft, can’t figure which.

Got a phone call from a guy speaking with an Indian accent, said he was from some Windows department. He told me their servers detected error messages from my PC and said it might be infected, asked me to log in. I said no thanks and ended the call.

Got a call from someone called "Nicky" claiming to be from "Windows Technical Support" saying my computer had an issue. Told them straight up I don’t even own a PC this time - not falling for it again. Pretty obvious it’s another dodgy scam using fake UK numbers.

This week, I got three calls from two blokes and one woman, all sounding Indian, claiming to be from Windows Tech Support. When I told them I don’t actually use a Windows PC, they just kept trying to convince me otherwise. Bit suspicious if you ask me!

Got two calls from this number earlier today. They said they were from Microsoft’s Tech Support. I kept them on the line for about ten minutes asking what logs they had about supposed viruses or malware on my PC. They kept pestering me to press the Windows key with "R" and "S" to let them remotely control my machine. Absolutely not! They finally gave up and ended the call, warning my computer would freeze and data would be lost. If you get calls like this one, definitely report them to Action Fraud.

This number has called me about five times in the past couple of days. I was a bit shocked to see it’s a local number, considering we only got our new phone number last Wednesday and hardly anyone has it yet. I did try ringing back, but no luck getting through.

Had about three dodgy calls now from what they say is the Windows tech team. They’re a new type of scam to me, pretending to be local by using a nearby area code. Does anyone know how they manage to do that?
