Had them ringing for the third time today, some call centre in India pretending to be Virgin. I even got in touch with Virgin to warn them. Cheers for the suggestion about the curse, I’ll give that a go. Feels like they’ve passed on my number because now I’m also getting dodgy calls from a hidden number.

Warning to everyone! I've been getting calls like this quite a few times now, sometimes it's a robotic voice speaking perfect English, other times it's a real person with an Asian accent from some call centre. It really irritates me so one time I just kept chatting to the caller for ages until I got really wound up and said “Do you even feel sorry for what you’re doing? Imagine it’s your own mum or dad on the end of the line getting tricked.” I finished by telling them bluntly “Why don’t you find a proper job instead of ripping people off, and jog on!”

Got a call from a strange number the other day, picked up and the caller just hung up straight away. Looked up the number afterwards and it’s definitely one of those suspicious ones. Happens quite often to me. One time I actually kept them on the line, it was a woman with an Asian accent trying to get me to mess with my computer, probably for some hacking trick. I played along for a bit, then she lost it and started swearing at me before telling me to buzz off. These scammers should be stopped properly. My 95 year old dad got a call about owing income tax, and when he told them he'd get his daughter to speak to them, they just ended the call.

Got a call claiming to be from the tax office saying I owed money and was being investigated for tax fraud. I played along but didn’t give any info. I asked them which tax years were in question and to provide my NI number. The caller said they couldn’t do that unless I gave some details first. When I asked for proof they hung up. Honestly, they wasted a good 20 minutes trying to scare me while I just amused myself!

Despite him claiming to be legit and even mentioning my router's licence number, I wasn’t having any of it. When I wouldn’t play along, he just said “Ok” and ended the call.

Some bloke rang saying he was from Virgin Media and that there was a problem with my internet. He told me to grab my laptop to fix it. I told him to prove who he was and before I knew it, he had me talking to his “supervisor” within seconds. I knew then it was dodgy. Virgin Media wouldn’t be that speedy, no way lol.

He asked what gadgets she connected to the net with. When she said none, he just lost it and yelled, "F### Off B####, You’re Wasting My Time" - what a lovely character.

Superstitions run really deep in India, so when I mentioned they’d have seven years of bad luck, maybe even something worse, it seemed to freak them out. The curse was because they kept lying - lying is seriously bad karma. Told them to let their boss know they’re cursed liars too, so the boss gets it as well.

Somebody called me saying they were officer Katlin Morris, telling me I had unpaid taxes and that there was a warrant out for my arrest. They even threatened to send the police if I didn't give my date of birth. I was suspicious right away, but I can totally see how someone less careful could get freaked out by it.
