Someone rang me claiming my washing machimes warranty had run out and tried pushing some 'special offer' on me. I told them straight up I hadn't got any warranty at all and it was a total scam. They just dropped the call after that. Definitely a dodgy caller.

Got a call from some woman saying she was with Domestic and General, trying to tell me my washing machine warranty had run out. Honestly, I bought that machine more than a decade ago - no way I had some crazy lengthy policy! 😂 Totally a scam, and when I called her out on it, she just hung up on me.

Got a call earlier from someone who said they were checking on my washing machine's warranty and even asked for me by name. When I questioned her a bit, she just hung up on me. Definitely a scam, so steer clear!

I got a call from someone named "Faisal" claiming to be with Domestic Electrical Rentals or something similar. He said my appliance insurance had just expired, but didn’t say which appliance he meant. I told him that my insurance actually ended ages ago and he just dropped the call. Sounds like a total scam to me.

Got a call on my landline from 01932509901, a woman asked for me using my name but said it completely wrong. I confirmed it was me and then suddenly the call just dropped. I thought being ex-directory and on the TPS list would stop these calls but clearly not.

She didn’t say who she was when she rang me up. Strangely, she picked out the right brand of washing machine (either lucky guess or she had info?). Honestly, it all seemed pretty fishy to me.

My call blocker stopped the call, so I guess it was either a robocall or some kind of scam.

Got a call from one of those Indian call centres trying to get me to renew my warranty on some white goods. They wanted me to pay with my debit card. I said hold on while I fetch it, then kept them waiting forever. Eventually, they gave up. What a load of rubbish!

Over the last couple of months, I’ve had six calls from this number saying my washing machine's warranty is nearly up. They keep ringing to ask if I want to extend the insurance on it. Pretty annoying really!

They rang and asked if I was Mr S... but that’s my wife’s last name, not mine. So I said no, and then they just ended the call.

So annoying! This number keeps ringing but never leaves a voice message. When I tried calling back, the line was just busy all the time. I only bothered to call because it’s a local number, unlike the usual ones I get.

Got a call from some annoying woman, sounded Indian, said she was from Homecare about my kitchen appliance warranty. Told her quite bluntly to piss off.

Got a call claiming my appliance cover had expired and that I needed to renew it. I got suspicious and asked them straight why they were trying to cheat me, but they didn’t seem to get what “cheat” meant. Then I asked why they were trying to fool me, and that went over their heads too. Eventually, I just told them, “I’ve never even had appliance cover, what part of that is unclear?” and ended the call. These people can be really tricky for anyone who isn’t careful - they sound so convincing.

Got a call about my washing machine, and they already knew my name! Who on earth sells this sort of info? I was ready to tell them they should get a refund since their details were obviously rubbish, but I got a bit too eager in talking back and the person just hung up. Seems like these scammers keep switching their phone numbers so you’ll answer when they ring.

I had a rather unpleasant encounter with a gentleman who rang me up, becoming quite irate when I turned down his proposition to extend my washing machine insurance. I can't say I hold it against him-his little ploy to catch me out didn't quite go as planned, did it?

The call came through with loads of background noise, sounded like they were in a hectic office or something. The guy spoke with a really thick South Asian accent and said he was "Mike from the washing machine warranty team." Didn’t say any company or brand though. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Homecare, saying my washing machine warranty ran out and needed my card info to renew it. Definitely sounded off to me.

Got a call supposedly about insuring a washing machine, but it was obvious from the accent it was an Indian call centre. When I grabbed the phone off my elderly mum and asked to have her number taken off their list, the caller went completely silent. Yet the call didn’t end, just stayed quiet for about 4 minutes until I finally hung up. This number from Weybridge is definitely not what it seems and looks like it’s aimed at older people, probably on some kind of targeted list. Like many of these scam calls, they start out silent because their system dials randomly before a real person starts speaking. Since my mum gets loads of these annoying calls, I guess they're working off some shared database combined with an automated dialler.
