I received a call from a gentleman who had a rather pronounced accent-definitely sounded foreign, possibly Asian. The background noise suggested he was in a bustling call centre. He was prodding me for sensitive details about myself, which has made me suspicious; I reckon it’s a phishing attempt.

Got a call on my landline, which I haven't shared with anyone for ages since I mainly use my mobile now. Let it ring out to voicemail, but they didn't leave any message. The very next day they called again, so I picked up and they asked for someone by a name I haven't used in over a decade. I told them nobody by that name lives here, and they quickly hung up. Could tell from the background noise it was a call centre for sure.

It took a bit long to pick up, like one of those auto-dial calls. A bloke with a faint (maybe Asian?) accent from what sounded like a call centre asked if I was Mr (my surname). I said which one, as I wasn’t sure. Oddly, he had my mum’s name, and she’s definitely not a Mr! I said hold on, handed the phone to her, but by the time she answered a couple seconds later, the line had already cut off. Pretty sure it was a scam, so watch out!
