Received a call from this number, but it just rang twice and didn’t bother to leave a message. Quite odd, really.

About twenty minutes back, I received a rather baffling call. The individual on the other end was difficult to decipher, but it seemed they were inquiring about my wife's computer. After a rather lengthy silence, I informed him that he had reached the wrong number, and to my surprise, he promptly terminated the call. It’s quite peculiar, really, as I usually don't see any numbers recorded when checking 1471. Quite the unusual experience, I must say!

I received a phone call from a chap claiming to represent Virgin Media, stating that there were some dodgy files lurking on my computer, though he assured me they weren't viruses. He insisted that I open Google and visit www.join.me, where I’d need to give him permission to access my device to perform a diagnostic check. He mentioned that if he stumbled across any minor issues, he'd sort them out, and if it turned out to be something serious, I’d be charged for the repairs. At that point, alarm bells started ringing, and I promptly ended the call. I attempted to reach out to Virgin Media straight away, but the character was still on the line and refused to let go. After a bit of a wait, he finally hung up. I then managed to get hold of their support team, who assured me that they would never contact customers in that manner-only for matters pertaining to upgrades, not for computer fixes.

I keep receiving calls from this number, only for them to hang up every time. It’s becoming quite irritating! Is there a way to block it?

Once more, I received a call from a gent with a distinctly Indian accent, who was adamant about some dubious issues concerning my computer files. It was rather curious how he maintained such a level of patience when I bombarded him with questions, especially regarding how he could sleep soundly at night if, as I suspected, he had less than noble intentions for my device. I have to admit, I did manage to consume a fair bit of his time, which hopefully meant he couldn’t go on to dupe anyone more susceptible to his spiel. What struck me as odd was his evident lack of certainty in his responses, especially for someone engaged in this kind of cold calling. Though he was exceedingly polite and seemed genuine, would I ever place my trust in him? Absolutely not! And what about you? Would you take that risk?

I've recently received a call from this number too, from a woman speaking with a thick accent. She claimed that my computer was in jeopardy and supposedly being monitored online. It was something absurd about pop-ups being tracked, which is utterly ridiculous considering I've disabled all adverts. After playing along and acting clueless about technology, I eventually told her it was a scam and requested her contact number. The line was abruptly disconnected. I got the number by calling 1471. Just a heads-up for everyone to stay vigilant!

Earlier today, a woman rang me up, directly addressing me by name and claiming she wanted to discuss my computer. Instinctively, I felt she was merely trying to pull a fast one, so I ended the call. The previous time I encountered something similar, I asked the bloke if he earned a decent sum for spinning tales to folks, and he promptly hung up on me. So, my friends, don't be taken in by this nonsense!
