I receive frequent calls from this particular number. I really wish I had the ability to block it! To my annoyance, when I answered today, they simply hung up without saying anything. Although I didn't check the number, I did receive a call earlier this morning. The caller claimed to be from Microsoft. However, since I have dealt with similar attempts in the past, I called Microsoft directly and they confirmed that they never contact customers over the phone. I strongly believe it was the same people calling again! Out of frustration, I attempted to call them back to express my discontent, but no one answered.

Following my previous post, it turned out that they gained control of my computer. After I declined to pay for their services, the person claiming to be from Microsoft proceeded to delete numerous files and programs from my device. Their explanation was that they had to erase things since I didn't make the payment. This caused me considerable trouble. Please exercise great caution if you come across them.

I have received around five phone calls from this number today (11/04/15). Since I have my answering machine set up, I screened the calls and did not answer. My only hope is that when the pre-recorded message starts playing, they will be charged for at least the connection cost. However, I suspect that these calls may be generated through VOIP.

I received an unsolicited call from someone who claimed that my computer had been breached by hackers. After a tedious hour of trying to persuade me to pay £149 for their services and promising a refund of my last four years' antivirus payment, I finally realized that it was a scam. The person maintained they were from Microsoft, but I remained unconvinced. When I declined their offer, they went ahead and completely wiped my computer clean.

A telephone call was received from a woman with an Indian accent inquiring about my computer. I chose not to respond for a while and silently listened to her repeatedly saying "Hello." After some time, she eventually ended the call, and I instantly identified this as a scam. It was quite bothersome, as she called at 8:30 in the morning while I was occupied with taking care of my disabled wife.

I received a phone call earlier today, claiming to be from Microsoft. Interestingly, it was the second time they had contacted me. They insisted on conducting a full scan of my computer. However, I promptly ended the call when I informed them that I was a computer programmer.

I've actually just been to my father's place (he's 92 years old). A woman, who sounded Indian but I wouldn't call her a lady, called claiming that there was an issue with his Microsoft and said it was "dangerous". Luckily, I was there to pick up the phone. I told her that we were tired of scammers calling us, especially since my dad doesn't even own a computer. Of course, she promptly hung up.
My guess is that they're trying to gain access to people's computers so they can hack bank accounts. Has this number already been reported to the police?

I share the same sentiment as others here. Every single one of my personal computers and laptops operates on Ubuntu Linux. I must admit that this is not the initial encounter I've had with such phone calls. Sadly, I have a friend who fell victim to these individual's deceitful tactics. They managed to convince her to visit a website and input a specific code they provided, which ultimately enabled them to pilfer personal information such as passwords from her computer system. It is crucial not to be deceived by these cunning individuals.

I received a call from an individual with an Indian accent who claimed to be from Microsoft Windows. He stated that my computer had been hacked and someone was using my identity without my knowledge. The person asked me to turn on my computer so that he could demonstrate the issue. However, being skeptical, I told him that my computer was not working. Upon hearing this for the second time, he abruptly hung up the phone. Later, I attempted to call the number back, but no one answered despite the phone ringing.

Yesterday, I received two calls from individuals who claimed to represent Windows. Interestingly enough, they even had a conversation with my answering machine. These types of calls have occurred in the past, and when I confront them, they specifically state that it is Microsoft Windows. In response, I accuse them of being dishonest scammers and mention involving the police. Not surprisingly, they always end the call abruptly after these assertions. However, I have discovered a strategy to minimize their fraudulent activities - engaging them in conversation as long as possible. By doing so, I prevent them from targeting other unsuspecting victims while keeping them occupied on the line.

Just had one of those classic phone calls that sounded like it was from "Windows," claiming that my computer was in dire need of repair and needed urgent attention. The moment I mentioned that we don't have any such issues, they promptly hung up without a word. Quite the cheek, really!
