Called me a couple of times, could hear some people chatting in the background but no one actually talking to me.

When I checked me voicemail, there was this weird humming sound, almost like singing, but in some Asian language. You could hear a lot of noise and people talking too, so I reckon someone must’ve accidentally left their phone on. Every now and then I picked up the word “computer,” which made me think it might be a scam call centre chatting away on other calls or something. Proper strange!

I had pretty much the same thing happen, dude claimed my computer was getting hacked and weirdly had my address and name, I guess they got it from some phone book or something. I told him if he really wanted to prove it, he should send me a letter on official Microsoft letterhead with the details. Then I just ended the call.

Sounds like the usual story people are mentioning. Got a call from an Asian bloke at home who couldn’t even answer simple questions and just ended up hanging up once he realised I wasn’t falling for whatever scam he was running. Proper irritating and totally wrong. They really need to get a grip on this! Seems like they’ve started targeting more than just mainland UK numbers now, which is silly since I’m actually based in Gibraltar!

I don't know who was calling as when I finally got to the phone no one spoke. It's really frustrating, especially since I'm disabled and it usually takes me a bit to reach the phone.

Got a call from some Indian call centre claiming they were "Microsoft". They clearly had no clue who they were trying to reach. I just ended the call instead of wasting more time chatting with them.

Total scam! Got a call from an Asian lady claiming my computer was being hacked from some spot in Canada and that Microsoft had flagged it. I told her I don’t even use Windows, and she quickly replied, "Oh right, I meant Apple!" Not sure what they wanted but whatever it was, steer clear. (Funny thing is, I actually run Microsoft software, haha)

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent who actually knew my name. I reckon they must be fishing through the BT phone book, makes me think about going ex-directory. I'm with TalkTalk too, and given their track record with customer data leaks, I’m not taking any chances. The caller said they were from the Windows help desk, but I told them I wasn’t interested and just hung up. Just to be safe, I unplugged my computer from the internet and will run a virus scan later.

Those windows scam calls drive me mad. I usually pretend like I’m interested just to drag it out and annoy them, then eventually say I haven’t got a computer. Sometimes, I even give them bogus card info to have a laugh and see if they try to take money from a fake account. Feels good to waste their time a bit!

Some bloke rang me, said he was from Microsoft, claiming loads of dodgy stuff was happening on my computer all over the place. He told me he could sort it out. I played along, just to see what he'd try. He kept asking me to do stuff that was obviously him trying to get remote control so he could do God knows what dodgy things. Eventually, he got me through to his manager, who got proper annoyed when he realised I was just messing about. The guy started threatening to block my access to the computer forever. I ended the call, but then he started blowing my phone up, shouting a load of rude words at me. It was hilarious hearing someone who barely spoke English trying to sound tough and swear like a sailor.
