At best, it was just spam; at worst, a total scam. They rang me even though I’m registered on the TPS. Oddly, they said "good afternoon" when it was barely 10:50 in the morning. The caller wanted to discuss my insurance and how long I'd held the policy. When I asked where they were calling from, they claimed to be a comparison firm working with all the major life insurers. Asked how on earth they got my number, they said it was from my current insurer. Then, when I pointed out that if they really had that info, they should know exactly how long my cover's been active, they hung up sharpish.

Funny thing is, I already had that number saved in my phone from months ago when some debt collectors kept hassling me about a debt that didn’t even exist - it was Lowell’s or something like that.
