Earlier today, I received a call from a gentleman of considerable age using this number, attempting to pitch a life insurance policy. Despite my clear indication that I’m in my twenties and have no dependents, he persistently pressed on with his sales tactics. It felt very awkward, as he just wouldn’t take no for an answer. I can't shake the feeling that he was fishing for my personal information. I genuinely suspect I’ve just encountered a scam artist!

Picked up the phone and found myself staring into silence. I hung on for a moment, but then it cut off. I have a hunch this might be one of those pesky scam calls where an automated system rings a whole batch of numbers simultaneously, and the lucky chap who answers gets treated to a chat with a human attempting to peddle something dubious or pull a fast one. Got a call from someone looking for a Paul Finn. I mentioned I’m a woman and probably don’t sound like him, cos my voice is pretty high-pitched. The caller said I was being rude and then just hung up on me! What annoys me the most is that this isn’t even my personal phone, it’s a work mobile.
