I got a call from someone named "Caroline Murphy" who spoke with a pretty thick subcontinental accent, claiming to be from "Microsoft Reading." She told me my PC was hacked and tried to get me to download some app - which I wisely refused. When I asked her for a callback number to verify it was really Microsoft, she gave me a totally different number, which I didn’t bother ringing. I looked the number up here and yeah, it’s a known scam.
