2 yearsThis morning I was trying to access my Barclaycard debit online but the one-time password just never showed up on my phone. After asking for the code twice, I gave up and stopped trying to log in. Not long after, my landline rang and a message claimed there were two suspicious transactions on my card - one for £14.99 and another involving WESTERN UNION. The message asked me to press 1 to talk to someone, but I knew it was a scam so I blocked the number straight away. What baffles me is how they knew I was messing about logging in to Barclaycard right at that moment! Later, I called Barclaycard on my mobile, and all they could do was send another code. It’s rubbish security because I was already nervous logging in because of all this. Their advice was to message them through their website which is pointless if you can’t get into your account anyway. Honestly, well done Barclaycard for that brilliant security setup.
