I got a call saying I was owed a refund for a washing machine I’d apparently paid too much for. They asked which card they should send the money to and wanted me to confirm the details. I told them if they were gonna refund me, they could just send a cheque instead. They said they couldn’t do that, so I said if they had my card info they could just transfer the money. Then I said I don’t give card details over the phone, and they just hung up. It sounded pretty convincing and the refund was meant to be about £140. Watch out for this one!
