Got a call from Shell about setting up a smart meter. They never really make it clear that it’s optional, just make it sound like you have no say in the matter. I already told them before I’m not interested and to stop ringing me, so if they call again I’m just ignoring it. Just want to say to others: you can say no to having a smart meter installed. Don’t feel pressured or think someone actually requested it for you, they probably just call anyone and everyone to try and get their numbers up. Not a con, but definitely feels a bit sneaky.

I received a call from a gentleman who seemed to have an Asian accent. His voice was quite muffled, but I did manage to decipher the words ‘Shell Energy’ amidst the mumbling. I found myself having to ask him to repeat himself multiple times as his words were difficult to grasp. Eventually, I suggested that he ring back tomorrow, yet so far, I haven't heard a peep from him. Frankly, I wasn't anticipating this call, nor had I made any prior arrangements regarding, say, a meter installation.
