Some bloke called Benjamin Dunn was asking for me, so I acted like the receptionist and asked what it was about. He said it was a PRIVATE call, so I said I couldn't assist unless I knew what it was. Then he asked if I didn't understand the word private. Got another call supposedly from Warrington, asking about directors. Wouldn’t say what it was about and just ended the call on me.

Ben Dunn rang me up, asking for one of my fellow directors by name. He even nicknamed him, like they were really good mates or something. When I asked what company he was with, he said "I'm not with a company, I'm from Warrington". Then when I asked why he was calling, like loads of others said, it was "a personal matter". I told him I wouldn’t pass him on without a proper reason, and he snapped back rudely with “he’s expecting my call”. Well Ben, if he was actually expecting you, wouldn’t he be here in the OFFICE RIGHT NOW? Unsurprisingly, the idiot just hung up!

Someone called claiming to be Benjamin Dunn askin for the MD. He was quite rude and kept saying it was a private thing and that our MD would recognise him. Our MD had no clue who he was, and as soon as I said that, he just hung up straight away. We’re on the Telephone Preference Service, so I’m just about to report this number.

This bloke said his name was Ben, and since we never answer cold calls, we asked what it was about, but he wouldn’t say, claiming it was private. When he realised we wouldn’t play ball, he just ended the call suddenly.

I had a chap named Ben ring me up, asking for someone specific. When I inquired about the purpose of his call, he responded rather abruptly, claiming it was of a personal nature. The individual he was after did pick up, but just after verifying her name, he promptly hung up! Quite the peculiar encounter, if you ask me.

Honestly, loads of you Receptionists and Switchboard folks seem way too nosy. I get that we all have odd bits of time to look up numbers, but writing loads of bad stuff about this caller is just not on. The Managing Director told me what the call was about once he finished, and we're actually planning to meet the guy next week since what he’s offering sounds really good. Sure, his approach, acting like he knows people here, might not be great, but confidentiality’s important too, so don’t slag him off for keeping that.

01925906758 Some bloke named Benjamin Dunne (or Done, not sure) rang up asking for the director. When I asked what it was about, he got quite rude, saying "he knows who I am, and don’t you understand what private means". Seemed really dodgy and came across like a terrible salesman.

Really impolite! Told me his name was Benjamin and wanted to talk to the Director about something personal. When I asked who he actually was and where he was calling from, he just hung up. I used 1471 and rang him back, he sounded proper dodgy and totally sketchy! Absolutely a complete mug!

Some bloke rang our office asking for the name of the company. I asked him his name, he said Benjamin. When I asked for his last name, he gave Dunn. I asked if he was a client, and he said he was just a person! Then I asked where he was calling from, and he said Warrington. I tried putting him on hold, but he just ended the call! Proper argumentative and pretty rude bloke!

I asked where he was ringing from and he just said 'Warrington' but wouldn’t tell me the company name. When he couldn’t reach the person he wanted, he just dropped the call. If this was a proper business, that’s a terrible way to start dealing with people.
