Just had a call from a lady saying she's from Gladstone Brookes and that I have a £300 rebate to claim. She couldn’t even tell me the company’s address, which was pretty obvious it’s a scam. It’s crazy how some people actually believe this stuff. I’d steer well clear of this number, best to block it straight away. The number calling me was 01925598026. They say they have an office in South Africa, but honestly, with the tiny amount they were talking about, it’s not worth the risk at all.

A woman rang me and said i was entitled to get tax refunded from money i got from gladstone brooks about a ppi claim i’d made with yorkshire bank. She even mentioned my full name and the exact date i received the payment. Then she acted like she was passing me on to someone else who asked for my national insurance number. I said no way - i never share personal info on the phone. She then advised me to call hmrc to check if her company was legit. I ended the call right after. This happened today at 16:31, 11th may 2021. Definitely a total scam, be careful and don’t fall for it!

Got a call from someone with a South African accent saying they were from Gladstone Brooks about a PPI claim with Halifax and maybe some tax money owed from HMRC. I gave them my name and address, then they put me on hold but kept me on the line, with some background music playing like I was still waiting. I told them I was working and ended the call. Later, I got another call from 01253 531678 saying they were from Pockex and asking me to verify my name, phone number, email, NI number and so on. Luckily, I found this warning in between the calls!
