When I probed her about the company she represented, she dodged the question and kept repeating the same CO4 scheme spiel. The line was filled with a cacophony of voices, almost as if a debate was taking place in a busy pub. When I pressed her for her company’s website, she eventually mentioned greenenergygrant.co.uk. However, I found the site was currently “under construction,” which raised my suspicions that they had merely secured the domain and hadn't bothered to develop any actual content. After a bit of back-and-forth, she suggested she would transfer me to her senior manager due to my incessant inquiries. When the so-called ‘manager’ came on the line, her hostility was palpable. She barked, “... do you want the boiler or not?” when I sought clarification on their services. I couldn’t grasp why her tone was so abrasive. Her excuse was that they held the power in this situation, not me. I kept the conversation going longer than I probably should have, before declaring that I recognised the whole affair for what it was - a scam. In a fit of annoyance, she told me to “F off” and hung up.
